PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT FOR DEEP RIPPING UNDER SIAPEP

NECESSITY OF DEEP RIPPING

In lower Indus region different type of soil material is deposited by Indus. The Indus alluvium comprise, silty clay, clay, silty clay loam within the profile horizons. Such type texture if found within the plough layer (0-30 cm) , it can poses the problem during tillage operation, especially when leveling the surface of land. Therefore it is necessary to make the soil spongy or loose within the plough layer, before leveling through a laser guided equipment. For this propose deep ripping is best to tear & break the upper hard layer before using the sensitive laser guided leveling equipment.

The science behind deep ripping

where root growth is retarded or  a greater amount of energy is required for roots to grow is compacted soil, production is usually reduced the severity of their impact of surface compaction on root growth is depended on many factors soil type and amount of compaction. In sandy textured soils roots slowed by moderate compaction are less effective at keeping up with water and dissolved nutrients, particularly nitrogen, as they infiltrate through the soil profile.

Promotion of Equipment for Deep Ripping

Project will acquire/ import Deep Ripping equipment along with tractor of 75 HP. The objective is to break the hard panes and make the soil pulverization and to maintain the soil fertility. The farmers will be facilitated and the project consultant will impart the training at the aim to know the proper use of deep ripper, its benefits and to prevent the loss of soil. The main benefits of deep ripping are given as under:

• Increases aeration in root zone.
• Breaks the hard pan.
• Make soil suitable for plant growth.

Ultimately the use of deep ripping of land will impact upon the increase in crop production resulting which the beneficiary can get more yield.

• Application from SSC for registration
• Short listing of SSC
• Application from farmers for equipment
• Facilitate farmers for obtaining facility
